Dt88 – Tile And Stone Mortar

Cemimax DT88 is a polymer-modified, cement-based mortar for setting quarry, ceramic and most natural stone (including mosaics) and also for tiles over common interior surfaces, including exterior-grade plywood, as well as over exterior concrete and masonry surfaces. DT88 also can also be used to install porcelain tiles over common interior surfaces as well as exterior, horizontal concrete and masonry surfaces. DT88 is recommended for most tile sizes.

C1 / C2 and S1 / S2 for our Tile and Stone Mortar

The 2 in C2 (DT88)and means improved adhesive as apposed to C1 (DT85)which is normal adhesive. The adhesion test (C) is the most difficult to pass because the adhesive is put through a series of tests, freeze/thaw cycles, water immersion etc and then the bond strengths are measured after 28 days.

Powdered tile adhesives rated as S1 or S2, where S2 offers more degree of flexibility. In general, an S1 adhesive such as our DT85 will be suitable for most applications; in areas subject to lots of vibration or movement, you might want to use our DT88, S2 rated adhesive for extra confidence in areas where vibration is more prominent.
